Located in Dillenburgstraat in Breda, De Dillenburg is a perfect place to have a fancy moment ! Not just a standard menu but several small dishes to taste and share. With classic French and international dishes they will excite your taste buds and senses. In this article I want to introduce and show you one of my favourite hotspots in the Netherlands.
De Dillenburg in Breda is a fancy restaurant located near Ginneken. De Dillenburg is place that you can visit where you can have informal or business drinks, family outing or dinner. As a French girl living in the Netherlands, I must say that it sometimes feels very pleasant to sense a bit of French vibes with the food and the ambiance. The songs of the playlist make me smile. Sometimes you can recognise French artists like Claude Francois or Charles Aznavour ! Almost feels like i’m sitting in a restaurant in France ! Also, I really appreciate the passionate crew who welcomes you with a talk about their wines.

The restaurant proposes different small dishes that you can get with a nice glass of “paired” wine. In this article I want to share the experience I got by after taking the ”Proeverij Menu ”. To start, I ordered a fresh glass of Crémant, a bubble wine from a place in Bourgogne in France. After this nice moment, the first dish arrives : the Zalm Tataki which is a delicious piece of salmon with soja and accompanied by gember and green lime. If you do not eat fish, the team will propose you an alternative, for example a delicious carpaccio. The second small dish was a small velouté Knolselderij with celeriac and a little piece of camember in it ! Absolutely delightful ! The third round was a Skrei, a good piece of cod accompanied with snow peas and beurre noisette. We continue with the 4th little tasting with an absolutely delicious piece of beef accompanied with a chestnut mousseline ( which reminded me Ardèche ! ) and courgettes.

We end this Proeverij Menu with a mix of the French and Dutch culture : The Stroopwafel Parfait, with a wonderful chantilly and caramel sauce. Accompanied with a glass of white wine. I truly recommend this delightful restaurant and if you go there, say hi to the team for me !

Looking forward to share, taste and explore more in The Netherlands for you !
